Korg nanoKEY Fold is the latest ultra-portable MIDI controller (launched November 2024), made for anyone who gets ideas on the go – on the train, on a plane, backstage or on the sofa. When folded, it takes up almost the same space as a smartphone, so you can carry a real “piano layout” in your bag without hauling a traditional 25-key keyboard. And because the keybed is built with quiet membrane keys, you can sketch melodies and chords without rattling away and disturbing your surroundings.

The matte black finish feels discreet and durable, and the minimalist top panel makes it quick to get started: unfold it, connect USB-C, and you’re ready to go. The membrane keys provide a comfortable, controlled response, and with 13 velocity levels you can tailor the touch so your ideas land more naturally in your DAW – even if you’re producing in very little space. LED guidance for scales makes it easy to stay “in key”, and the two touch sliders sit right under your fingers for pitch/modulation or creative scale notes, so you can shape your expression without switching tools.

nanoKEY Fold is for the producer, songwriter and beatmaker who wants maximum creativity in a minimal size. Easy Scale mode helps you hit only the right notes, Chord mode puts full chords on a single key, and the arpeggiator (15 patterns) can quickly bring a simple hook to life. The Split function and 15 scenes make it easy to save and switch setups when you work fast. Folded, it measures 14.7 x 7.3 x 1.7 cm and weighs only 126 g – unfolded, you have 25 keys across approx. 29.2 cm width. You get plug-and-play via USB-C to a computer, tablet or smartphone, and with TRS-MIDI OUT (adapter included) you can also control hardware synths and drum machines. Note: there are no pads, faders, aftertouch, sustain pedal input or display – the focus is on a quiet, mobile keyboard experience.
