A pair of quality floorstanding speakers, combined with a good hi-fi system, can quickly deliver fantastic listening experiences when you watch films, listen to music, etc. Floorstanding speakers have the advantage that they can typically create a significantly larger soundstage thanks to the extra drivers built into them. That said, a larger cabinet does not necessarily mean better sound. You should therefore choose carefully and find the floorstanding speakers that can give you the sound you want.

Not only are there many brands to choose from, but there are also all the softer values, such as getting your wife’s or girlfriend’s approval. So there are many factors to consider before you’ve found the right speakers.

Floorstanding speakers are a favourite for listening to our favourite albums. They are often preferred due to their efficiency in transitioning between frequencies, which creates a great soundstage. They also don’t need space on a table or similar, which makes them easy to move around despite their large size. Because you get so much speaker in one speaker, you also get much more out of, for example, singer-songwriter music where vocals get extra room.

Many newer models of floorstanding speakers also have a passive radiator, or a front or rear port. These ports provide access to the low frequencies, which offers a wider spectrum of sound. A few floorstanding speakers even come with a power-hungry subwoofer, which can give an extra boost in the low frequencies.
